Makutano Junction Schools Project is an exciting new project being coordinated in our region by One World Network North East (OWNNE) with the aim of testing and using innovative teaching materials that use Makutano Junction as their core.

Makutano Junction Schools Project is a KS3 and KS4 cross curricula dimension resource relevant to several of the new KS3 cross curricular dimensions:
  • Global Dimension and Sustainable Development
  • Identities and Cultural Diversity
  • Technology and the Media
It can be used in Geography, English, Citizenship, Media Studies, ICT, RE and PSHE.

Schools participating in the Project receive a one day training and planning workshop for two members of staff and will deliver a minimum of 6 lessons to the project during 2008-9.

More information is available on the Makutano Junction website where there are also pilot lesson plans which can be downloaded. Makutano Junction is produced by Mediae with support from the Department of International Development (DFID).
