About Tees Valley One World Centre
Tees Valley One World Centre, set up in 1983, by local people, provides support for schools and community groups wanting to bring a global dimension to teaching and learning.

The Centre is the only one of its kind in the North East region, but one of 45 development education centres around the UK.

Our aims are to:
  • Raise awareness of the links between peoples’ lives worldwide.
  • Increase knowledge and understanding of the political, social, economic and environmental forces which shape our lives.
  • Develop skills which enable people to work together for human rights, social justice and sustainable development.
We are a partner of One World Network North East and also a part of a network of other non-governmental organisations such as Oxfam, Christian Aid, Actionaid, Unicef, WWF and Save the Children.
